Art Serrano is a photographer based in Los Angeles, California. Art uses his visual discipline to capture the raw energy and unfiltered perspectives of life both on and off the stage, granting audiences intimate access to the world of touring artists.
Raised in Los Angeles, Art's creative journey began with his study of graphic design at Westwood College, though he left to join his first music tour in 2010. Equipped with a camera, he merged his professional work with a passion for documentation—a pursuit that began in 2008 shooting underground dance clubs. This hands-on approach, taught by friends and honed through relentless shooting, has defined his work.
Art leverages his unique access to a roster of high-profile hip-hop artists, including Bone Thugs N Harmony, Three 6 Mafia, DJ Quik, Migos, Ashanti, DMX, and The Lox, as well as comedian George Lopez. He focuses on the dramatic moments—the preparations and the immediate aftermath of a performance—to show an individual point of view.
"For me, it is about capturing the journey and the unvarnished truth. I seek the dramatic, the raw emotion that exists in those high-stakes environments. I want the viewer to feel the energy of the moment, showing the stories that unfold when the lights are both on and off."
Art's photography has been featured in smaller publications and on album art, demonstrating his ability to transition seamlessly between commercial needs, personal travel documentation, and impactful visual storytelling.
